Chapter 1 - Bella's POV
The majority of our stuff was already in boxes or bags and all that was left were things that would be staying here. The couch, bed, rugs, music wall mount, and a few other miscellaneous items.
The object of my affections laid sprawled out on the gold rug on the floor, humming my lullaby with his eyes closed. I smiled as I walked towards him, glad that he was mine for all eternity. He’s so gorgeous…
I walked till I was right next to him, knowing he knew I was there, and kneeled down to straddle his hips. His eyes flew open in shock, a grin beginning to form on his face. I placed my hands on his shoulders and leaned down slowly towards his face.
I could feel his hands on my thighs as they moved up towards my hips and over my ribs. I pressed my lips to his slowly, savoring the softness of them. I enjoyed our alone time together. It seemed like we could never get enough of each other, the way we were always touching affectionately everywhere else but in our bedroom.
He groaned softly, moving one hand to tangle in my hair and the other to my rear, kneading me lightly. I pulled back slowly, panting slightly for air that I didn’t need. He opened his eyes to meet what I’m sure were my pitch black eyes full of desire.
“Do you want to go to our meadow one last time?” I asked him, my voice low with want. His gaze turned soft as he moved one hand to my face, tracing my cheekbones and lips.
“OK,” he replied in low, velvet soft voice. I smiled, leaning down to kiss him chastely one last time before hopping up off him and helping him up.
We ran to one of the open windows hand in hand and jumped the hundred feet to the ground, landing as gracefully as ever.
“We’re going to the meadow!” I called back to the house, letting the others know where we were going.
“Be back by dawn so we can leave on time!” Esme replied in a normal voice. I raised an eyebrow up at Edward and smiled before I took off in the direction of the meadow, dragging him behind me.
He caught up with me, glaring at me for catching him off guard, and continuing on our way. I couldn’t wait to start college. We didn’t have anything to worry about anymore.
The Volturi had already visited, seeing the proof that I had been turned immortal, offering peace till the next time we met.
The Quileutes had dissolved the treaty once Jacob had breached it by phasing in front of my school.
Jacob had come up to the school to talk to Edward about me being turned and we told him of our engagement and pending move to New Hampshire where I would be changed.
Jacob lost control of his rage, knowing that New Hampshire was beyond the treaty, and phased in front of the crowd of students that surrounded us and tried to attack Edward before more wolves bounded out of the woods to restrain him. Jacob and I never made up.
We made it to the meadow in less than five minutes and lay down in the middle, facing each other and tangling our legs together. I could look at him forever.
We just enjoyed the peacefulness of nature and each other’s company. I closed my eyes as he began to trace my features. It felt so relaxing and loving.
His finger ran lightly over my brow following the natural arch down my eye to my cheekbone. I smiled slightly at how careful he was still being with me. Old habits die hard I suppose…
He continued to run his finger along my jaw line to my lower lip, causing them to part. I opened my eyes, seeing him watching my mouth, his eyes darkening with desire, which in turn made my eyes darken.
He looked up to see me watching him before darting his gaze back to my lips. He leaned towards me slowly, drawing out the anticipation.
I moved both of my hands up to cradle his face as he leaned closer to me, his sweet breath blowing over my face.
His nose touched mine then and he began to trail his nose over my cheek to my ear. I sighed with pleasure. He always knew how to make me melt into a puddle of goo. I expanded my shield over him to communicate what I wanted.
I love you. I thought to him. He groaned quietly by my ear, his warm breath on my neck sending shivers down my spine. Make love to me, Edward.
Chapter 2 - Edward's POV I heard some noise coming outside the door on what sounded like stairs. I scrambled out of the bed and made my way to the window, prepared to leap. Before I could reach it, the door opened revealing a woman who could have been my twin. She was shorter than me and slender built with long waist length shiny bronze-colored hair, the exact same shade as mine, and stunning emerald eyes, the exact same color as mine were, that were wide with panic. “Edward!” she asked urgently. “What is it?” I stumbled away from her. What is this devilry? “Who are you?!” I shouted at her. “What do you want?!” I backed away from her until my back hit the wall. I quickly scanned the room for exit points. It was getting hard to breath and I could feel my heart beating in my ears. Wait a minute…my heart beating? I looked down at my chest, bringing my hand up to press against where my heart would be. I could feel it thumping hard beneath my hand. How is this possible? I lifted my hand up in front of my face, examining the flushed red skin of my palm. My eyes traveled up my arm to the crook of my elbow where a patch of sunlight streaming through the window landed. My skin wasn’t sparkling like I expected. What could this mean? “Edward?” the woman spoke again, fear evident in her voice, drawing my fascinated gaze away from myself. “It’s me. Your mother,” she continued cautiously. “Elizabeth Masen.” My jaw dropped open. That’s not possible! I thought in shock. I’ve gone back in time? Thinking quickly as to not alert suspicion, I closed my mouth and walked closer to her. “S-sorry. I had a strange dream that left me a bit disoriented.” I stuttered slightly. I’m human! I was still reeling on the inside. On the verge of panicking. The fear and anxiety vanished from her face replaced by a warm smile. “Come then. Wash up. It’s time for breakfast.” She held out her hand to me, still smiling. I hesitantly walked closer and grabbed her hand. It was warm and soft and she didn’t flinch from me like I was used to most of my existence. She smiled encouragingly and led me through the door, giving my hand a light squeeze before making her way down the stairs to what I’m sure was the kitchen. I tried to remember the layout of my human house and where the bathroom was. I could see the front door from my position at the top of the stairs, knowing that the sitting room and the kitchen were down there. There was a door across from my room. It’s possible that that was the bathroom. Only one way to find out… I walked to the door and knocked lightly in case someone was in there. After no response, I cautiously opened the door revealing another bedroom. This must be a guest room. Closing the door, I decided that upstairs was my only option. Climbing the stairs I noticed the floral wallpaper and the oak railing. This house was beautifully decorated. Victorian style. Definitely owned among the upper middle class. I’d forgotten that my human parents were somewhat rich with my dad being a lawyer and everything. I wonder what happened to Bella. That vampire hit us with the haze at the same time so if it sent me here did it send here too? Was she here in Chicago? Where could she possibly be otherwise? I shuddered to think of the possibilities… After finding the bathroom across from my parents’ room, I cleaned myself up the best I could. I was turning to leave the bathroom when my reflection made me stop. I rushed towards the mirror, bringing my hands up to my now piercing green eyes. Strange… I’ve had gold eyes for so long I forgot what I looked like with green eyes. This will take some getting used to… Shaking my head to clear the shock that had settled, I trudged my way down the staircase, watching my feet to not trip. I can’t even remember if I was a clumsy human…
